8th-grade student dies after a botched treatment by RMP in Khammam’s Konijerla

An 8th-grade student died following a botched treatment allegedly under the influence of alcohol by a registered medical practitioner at Baswapuram of Konijerla mandal in the district.
The student, Challa Hemasri (14), who was studying at the local Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, fell ill with a cold and fever; her parents took her to a local RMP, Sampath. He administered an injection through an intravenous (IV) cannula in the hand.
Family members stated that after the RMP administered the injection, the girl experienced breathing difficulties and was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Khammam. Doctors there performed an ECG and confirmed her death.
