Eight-year-old student dies of snakebite at Narayanpet government school

An eight-year-old Class III student died after being bitten by a snake at his government school in Eklaspur here on Thursday afternoon. There were about 15 students in the classroom when the incident occurred.
Ranjith, a student of the Upper Primary Government School, was bitten by the snake at around 3 pm. He was rushed to the District Hospital by the school staff but died while undergoing treatment.
It remains unclear how the snake entered the classroom in the single-storey school building. While officials claimed that Ranjith was bitten after he placed his hand outside a classroom window, local residents maintained that the snake bit him inside the classroom.
