At an emergency general body meeting held on Thursday, the Hyderabad Kirana Merchants Association (THKMA) resolved to initiate disciplinary action, including termination of membership, if any of its members is found guilty of indulging in food adulteration, polishing, colouring, or any other unethical food business practice.
The emergency meeting was held to discuss the recent enforcement actions relating to food safety and to create greater awareness among its members regarding compliance with the Food Safety and Standards Act and FSSAI regulations.
