A group of unemployed youth staged a flash protest at Indira Park crossroads on Monday, demanding that the State government issue a fresh notification for a total of 19,000 police vacancies instead of limiting recruitment to the recently announced 7,437 posts.
The protesters also demanded the government to increase the upper age limit for police recruitment, alleging that delays in issuing notifications had left thousands of aspirants ineligible after crossing the prescribed age limit.
