New Delhi: A massive fire broke out early Sunday morning at a factory in Delhi’s Chandan Hola area, officials said. The rapidly spreading blaze caused panic, prompting the fire service to escalate their response and deploy 15 fire tenders to bring the situation under control.
Delhi Fire Service confirmed that no casualties have been reported so far, and the cause of the fire is under investigation. Officials said that the department received the emergency call at 2:11 AM on Sunday. The factory, located near Punjab National Bank (PNB) in South Delhi’s Chandan Hola area, was the site of the fire.
“We immediately dispatched two water tenders and two water bowsers. Firefighters initially tried to contain the blaze, but it quickly spread throughout the factory premises,” an official said.

Due to the fire’s severity, it was initially classified as ‘Make-4’ at 2:40 AM, prompting the deployment of additional fire tenders. As the blaze intensified, the status was upgraded to ‘Make-6’ at 3:08 AM. “To intensify relief and rescue efforts, 15 fire vehicles were deployed, including six water tenders, seven water bowsers, one BFT, and one MP unit. The operation proceeded for several hours under the supervision of senior officials,” the official said.
The firefighting and rescue operation was led by several senior officials of the department, including Divisional Officer R. Atwal, ADO Santosh, ADO Sarabjit, Station Officer Manish, and Station Officer Amit, who also monitored the relief and rescue efforts.
Officials stated that efforts to control the fire lasted for several hours, and no injuries or loss of life has been reported so far. They said the fire's cause is being investigated, and the damage can only be assessed once it's out.
