Five held with 38 kg ganja allegedly being transported from Araku to Mumbai

The CCS Special Crime Team, in coordination with Gandhinagar police on Friday, arrested five persons allegedly transporting dry ganja from Araku in Visakhapatnam district to Mumbai, and seized 38 kg of the contraband worth about Rs. 10 lakh.
The suspects were identified as Rajaram Swami Kannu Padaiyachi (78) of Maharashtra; Santosh Balaram Prajapathi, (65) of Mumbai; Vijayalaxmi Kaliyamurti Pellai (66) of Tamil Nadu; Silmina Kujur (36) of Jharkhand; and Sheela Devi (48) of Jharkhand.
According to the police, the suspects allegedly procured ganja in brown-coloured parcels from Araku and transported it by bus to Hyderabad. They would then board another bus to Mumbai and deliver the parcels at locations specified by an unidentified source.
