Telangana’s monsoon holds steady, as cumulative rainfall trails normal by Just 6 per cent

As the southwest monsoon progresses through August, Telangana’s cumulative rainfall from June 1 to Monday, August 10 stands at 406.5 mm against the normal benchmark of 430.3 mm, at a 6 percent deficit, placing it in the normal rainfall category, rainfall data from Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS) said.
The TGDPS data indicated that at present, out of 33 districts, 19 districts are in normal rainfall category while two districts including Kamareddy and Medak are in the excess category.
Meanwhile, 12 districts, including Hanumakonda, Warangal, and Jangaon, are experiencing a deficit ranging between 20 percent and 59 percent.
