India won the one-off Test against Afghanistan by an innings and 300 runs on the third day of the match. The Indian team outplayed the opposition in all departments as they first put up a massive total on the scoreboard and then bundled them out quickly in both innings to emerge triumphant in the match.
Batting first, India posted 564/8 thanks to centuries from Shubman Gill (126) and KL Rahul (100). Rishabh Pant also contributed with a knock of 81 runs and helped the team post a total of more than 550 runs on the scoreboard. In response, Afghanistan were bundled out for 152, and India handed them a follow-on. Manav Suthar picked six wickets while Rahmat Shah played a valiant knock of 60 runs. In Afghanistan's second innings, their batters looked clueless against the Indian spin attack, and they were all out for 112, with Washington Sundar picking four wickets and Kuldeep Yadav picking three wickets. Thus, India registered a win by an innings and 300 runs, their biggest innings win in Test cricket.
